SpillAsia 2026 Singapore 23-25 September Round Up

UK and Ireland Spill Association had a stand at SpillAsia 26 held at the Suntec Arena between 23 – 25 September.

Several others attended and used the Association stand as their base – rent free!!

SpillAsia was well attended and the initial feedback from the event surveys is positive and will return in 2029!

A lot of useful content was presented and I will start sharing this with members once the proceedings of the conference are available.

Hot topics were:

• Implications of the energy transition for shipping, ports and responders
• How do we reduce the impact of plastic pollution spills
• Polluting Wrecks – a major issue as these wreck age the containment of fuel tank and ammunition storage become less secure.
• Focus on Spill Resilience in remote communities and importance of capacity building
• Focus on Hazardous and Noxious Substances and VLSFO
• Focus on Wildlife
• Step forward on AI and use of technology and COP
