The environmental effect of the loss of the MV X-Press Pearl last month continues to be reported.

This article in The Guardian makes clear the environmental harm that has been caused and will continue to persist until eventually the acids and toxins from the fire are washed away and diluted by the sea.

It reports the loss of 176 turtles, 20 dolphins and four whales, these are known losses and those that have ended up ashore – I am sure the extent of loss is considerably more.

A tragic incident for all concerned.
